HIV Awareness Training for Women's Organizations Across Turkey

Purpose and Target and Method:

The main purpose of the project is to update the information and raise awareness of institutions and individual activists working in the fields of women and human rights, especially women's organizations in the eastern provinces. The other purpose is to raise awareness of HIV among other women in disadvantaged regions through these institutions and activists, whose sensitivity has increased with the training plan within the scope of the project.

It was aimed to increase the awareness of women, especially in the eastern provinces about HIV, to raise awareness for early testing and treatment, to encourage them to get tested, and to prevent HIV-infected baby births with early diagnosis.

At the end of the project, it was aimed that 60 people related to women's rights had learned about HIV fully and could raise awareness for disadvantaged groups.

Results:

A total of 63 people from 24 different institutions participated in the project carried out between 18 March 2022 and 18 July 2022.

Upon the invitation of Kadir Has University Women's Studies Unit, a face-to-face workshop was held for 30 participants on April 28, 2022, between 15.00 and 17.00. 33 people attended the workshops organized online.

Other seminars were planned, including for local governments, medical chambers and faculties.
