Empowerment of People Living with HIV through the Arts Project

Aim and Objective and Method:

In order to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV and raise awareness in the society, Pozitif-iz Association launched the 'Empowerment of People Living with HIV through Art Project' with the slogan 'Let's Get Stronger with Art, Let's Create Awareness!
The main goal of the project, which was carried out between 30 May - 31 December 2024 with the support of the European Union Sivil Düşün Program and in cooperation with Özgür Renkler Association, is to enrich the lives of people living with HIV, increase their self-confidence and eliminate prejudices in society.
The project was planned in 3 phases: 1) Information Seminars, 2) Art Workshops, 3) Production of Policy Documents.
Through the information seminars, art workshops and policy document development activities organized within the scope of the project, individuals were both refreshed and a space was created where they could share their own stories. They were also enabled to experience the empowering side of organization. Through these workshops, participants discovered their own creativity and benefited from the healing power of art.
Event announcements were made through social media accounts and e-mail groups. Participants were identified through registration.
Within the scope of the project carried out in Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara, it was aimed to reach 30 people living with HIV.
Outputs:
On Sunday, September 1, 2024 in IZMIR, on Sunday, October 27, 2024 in ISTANBUL and on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in ANKARA, art workshops were organized.
32 people living with HIV participated in the workshops.
The artworks produced during the project were compiled into a booklet and 200 copies were printed.
