Purpose, Objectives, and Methodology

Organized by the International AIDS Society (IAS) since 2016, the campaign aims to increase awareness among all healthcare workers involved in HIV prevention, treatment, and care regarding anti-discriminatory service provision, while also honoring healthcare professionals who provide services free from stigma and discrimination.

The campaign also seeks to better understand what motivates these healthcare champions to deliver inclusive, stigma-free care, to amplify their stories, and to encourage others to confront and challenge stigma and discrimination.

In 2024, the campaign expanded to Türkiye. Representing the country, Pozitif-iz Association took part in the campaign. As a symbol of hope against the challenges created by stigma and discrimination, we worked to promote the acceptance of #StigmaFreeCare and #ÖnyargısızSağlıkHizmeti in Türkiye and globally.

Outputs

• While the campaign received 22 applications in 2024, the number increased to 105 applications in 2025—representing an approximately 377% increase. Türkiye’s champions are:

• The campaign’s award ceremony was held on Saturday, 4 October 2025, at the Pozitif-iz Association headquarters in Istanbul.
